Recognition of Service Award - Ms Christine Richardson
Christine has served the school community while her children were at MLSHS and extended that service for many years after they left. P&C President, Chair of the School Council, head of committees, worker, volunteer; she has done it all. Her hard work lives on in the many legacies she has left the school. Christine played a leading role in lobbying for the complete rebuilding of MLSHS which to date has has seen $ 41 million injected to the school infrastructure. The Parent Support Committees that enhance the the education of our children have benefitted greatly from her input and direction. That includes the Music and SVAPA Support Committees that are running this Community Art Auction (Christine was on the inauguaral community art auction committee).

Auctioneer - John Cook - Auctioneer of Renown
John has wielded the hammer so adeptly at our past three auctions, combining his art knowledge with wit, humour and business. We are pleased to see him back in the hot seat again this year. John's company, WA Art Auctions, holds regular auctions of quality Australian & International paintings, lithographs, limited editions, objet d'art, Antique & quality reproduction furniture, Persian rugs and collectables. WHY
Over the years, this auction has grown in stature to be the most professional of the "amateur" auctions in WA. It provides the best auction opportunity for local artists.
Funds raised from the auction enrich the education of our next generation of actors, musicians and visual artists, our students. This includes the sponsoring of tours, training sessions and the purchasing of equipment. Most recently the funds have been used to sponsor the China Tour and purchase musical equipment including Timpani, Casio Piano and other instruments.
The Community Art Auction is a joint venture between the Music Support Committee and the Specialist Visual and Performing Arts (SVAPA) Support Committee under the auspices of the Mount Lawley Senior High School Parents & Citizens Association Inc.
